Approximately 100 pages (50 leaves) + 45 individual photographs.

A remarkable and carefully assembled research folder documenting Thames sailing barges, compiled over several decades by a dedicated enthusiast. This archive contains approximately 100 pages (50 leaves) of original photographs, typed vessel histories, and handwritten annotations, accompanied by 45 additional loose colour photographs — a genuine one-of-a-kind resource for anyone with a passion for Britain’s sailing barge heritage.

Barges documented include: Ardwina, Falconet, Ena, Gipping, Lyford Anna (ex-Cereal), Raybel, Gladys, Doris, Vigilant, Ironsides, Will, Denic, Dorabella, and more.

Locations featured: Ipswich, Upnor, Maldon, Pin Mill, Faversham, Whitstable, Portsmouth (Festival of the Sea, August 1998), Battlesbridge, St Katharine Docks (London), and various Thames Estuary and East Coast ports.

Photographs span approximately fifty years, capturing these vessels in working trade, as houseboats, under restoration, at rallies and regattas, and in some cases in their final resting places. Several images appear to be taken by or credited to the compiler (initialled C.L.C.).
